The Beauty of Deconstruction
For many, the word deconstruction carries a sense of fear or uncertainty. It’s often misunderstood as the unraveling of faith or the abandonment of belief. But in reality, deconstruction is an invitation to examine what we have been taught, to question with courage, and to refine our understanding of truth.
The majority of the time, deconstruction is not about tearing everything down and walking away—it’s about making room for something more authentic. It’s about letting go of the things that no longer align with who we are becoming, while holding onto what’s real, beautiful, and true. It’s a process of peeling back the layers, confronting doubts, and embracing the journey of faith, spirituality, and personal growth with open hands and an open heart.
If you find yourself in a season of deconstruction, know this: You are not alone. There is grace in the questions and wisdom in the journey. Trust the process, lean into love, and remember—just like in strength training, sometimes, breaking apart is the first step to building something even stronger.
I would love to walk this journey with you if you find yourself ready to talk through things and need someone you can trust to walk beside you. I offer 30 minute deconstruction coaching consultations to see if we are compatible to go on this deeply personal and powerful journey together!
I also wrote a book, detailing my experience through deconstruction, available on Amazon and Audible, called Honoring the Journey: The Deconstruction of Sister Christian. And make sure you listen to Honoring the Journey Podcast so you can hear lots of stories of people, just like you, who are experiencing this spiritual metamorphosis first hand!
